Your Fleet Is An Investment

Your fleet is more than just a series of transactions – It’s an investment. Not only does your fleet play a vital role in serving your customers, but with an integrated strategy and holistic thinking, it can also drive your business growth and success.

When managing your fleet is viewed as just a series of expenses to manage, it’s only natural to focus on minimizing the amount of each transaction in the short term. However, this approach can often result in hidden long-term costs and an increased time commitment. Ultimately, costs increase, and your company’s productivity decreases.

At Holman, we work with you to align your fleet with your overall business goals by prioritizing strategic planning throughout the vehicle lifecycle.

With the right mindset, each phase of the lifecycle offers an opportunity to add value and increase your bottom line.

Our fleet management services can help you streamline your operations and reduce overhead.

Fleet Management Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do we understand by fleet management?

Fleet management encompasses all tasks involved in managing a fleet. This includes the planning, monitoring and control of all vehicles that a company has at its disposal. A vehicle park or fleet can consist of company vehicles such as cars, trucks, vans, buses, but also special vehicles. Fleet management or fleet administration includes many tasks, and the requirements vary from industry to industry.

  • Who is responsible for fleet management in the company?

The fleet management models differ depending on the size of the company and the size of the vehicle fleet. There is also an important question: To manage the fleet yourself or outsource the management?

Managing the vehicles in smaller companies is mostly done by their own internal departments, employees and fleet managers. The larger the company, the greater the need for a dedicated fleet manager. it is more efficient, especially for medium sized and large companies, to outsource the fleet management processes to an external provider. Examples of this include so-called fleet management service providers, such as ARI Fleet Germany GmbH.

  • What is the purpose of fleet management?

A fleet management system should contribute to the optimal utilization of all resources and services while at the same time improving driver and vehicle safety and enabling any problems in the fleet to be identified, rectified or prevented at an early stage before they have a negative impact on the balance sheet.

  • What tasks are involved in fleet management?

Fleet management can therefore include the following tasks:
    · Financing strategy
    · Procurement strategy
    · Control of vehicle files
    · Maintenance and repair management
    · Claims management
    · Road tax management
    · Fine service
    · Data assessment and archiving
    · Fuel card management
    · Route planning
    · Booking and management of pool vehicles
    · Driver license check
    · Driver instruction
    · Leasing contract administration and coordination of vehicle return management
    · Remarketing

  • How do I digitize fleet management and full-service leasing?

The larger and more complex the company fleet, the more tasks a fleet manager has. There are still numerous companies that use complicated Excel spreadsheets and paper documents to manage vehicle data for company cars. The use of such systems often leads to great confusion, dubious transparency and results in costly incorrect decisions.

Regardless of the fleet structure (cars, trucks, commercial vehicles, special vehicles, etc.) and the size of the company, more and more fleet managers and service providers are relying on digital and mobile fleet management solutions that provide a good overview, help with the entire organization and can lead to cost savings. If the fleet continues to grow, user-friendly fleet management software is now an indispensable tool for optimal management of the vehicle fleet, because using a fleet management solution means you have everything under control and in view at all times.

Basically, fleet management software, is a solution-optimized, automated and configurable administration management system that enables managers and fleet decision-makers to increase the productivity of company processes and save costs and is therefore gaining in importance. All important information about the vehicle fleet, i.e., vehicle details, driver information, fuel consumption and maintenance costs are collected digitally in the system and clearly sorted. With such a tool, you have access to all current data at any time with just a few clicks and can act in real time with the help of the fleet software, if this is necessary.

  • What is Full-Service-Leasing?

Full-service leasing is the leasing of vehicles, including the assumption of all services (i.e., maintenance, repairs, insurance of the leased object) by the lessor. This can be concluded in the so-called “closed-end” leasing. Here, the disadvantages can be rigid contracts with hidden additional costs at the end of the contract. The alternative is so-called “open-end” leasing, in which the leasing contracts are handled flexibly.

  • Who benefits from full-service leasing?

Full-service leasing benefits fleet managers who want to concentrate on their core business and/or see themselves as strategic managers. Tasks that do not make sense to carry out personally are delegated to the lessor for a fee. Here, as well, the fleet manager must ensure that the service costs are transparent and can be flexibly controlled. Caution! This is not always the case.

  • What are the alternatives to full-service leasing?

Up to now, tenders for closed-end leasing have usually focused on the lowest leasing rate. What is passed off as individualized contract design, however, tends to neglect significant factors, such as cost-effectiveness and service life. Holman, on the other hand, dispenses with hidden margins and instead offers you a cost-optimized, open-end finance lease solution that saves you up to 20% on your financing costs in comparison.

With Holman FlexLease, a flexible full payback contract, there are no rigid terms and benefits. After the end of the term, there is also no reduction in value since it does not reflect the loss in value. The contract can be terminated at any time after three months by paying the remaining debt. This not only gives you flexibility, but also leaves the marketing proceeds in your company.

With Holman FlexLease, you only pay for the financing for all vehicle types in accordance with IFRS 16, or rather:
    · no costs for contract adjustments
    · no prepayment penalty in the event of premature contract termination
    · no excess/short mileage billing due to mileage limitation
    · no costs due to damage and reduced values at the end of the contract
